SunWorks Art Exhibit

To celebrate the satellite observatory’s success, NASA launched a call to artists to create art works depicting the sun and its importance to us in 2006. SunWorks, an exhibition by Artists ages 12 to adult from seven countries was launched. Originating in Vienna, Austria, SunWorks traveled to the United Nations, then across the US in museums, science centers and libraries. Twenty four works are featured, including a 30-inch aluminum Sun, an exotic solar face mask, a sun made of Lego blocks, an imaginative stained glass construction and a blown glass plate.
