As many of you know, the Discovery
Museum has been raising
Brook Trout for the past few months. These little guys/girls are getting big and it will soon be time to release them into our local Redbud Run.
Join our release team by adopting a trout, and help ensure that this program continues at the Discovery Museum. A $25 tax-deductible contribution will adopt a trout. In return we would like to give you the opportunity to help us release them into Redbud Run on Friday, September 17th at 4pm. This is a great opportunity to learn first-hand what type of habitat Brook Trout need to survive. Your support will help restore a species that is currently being threatened by deforestation, development, and mountaintop removal mining to name a few. Why should we care if brook trout disappear? Brook trout are an indicator species. Because they require clean, cold, highly oxygenated water, their absence proves that many of our streams are sick.
